John has been a working artist for over twenty-five years. He currently creates his paintings and sculptures from McRae Studios in Winter Park, Florida. The studio was established by his family twenty years ago and currently provides studios for 24 artists. Along with his artist wife Lynn, their work is in numerous museum and city collections and can be seen in galleries, art festivals, books and publications.

With John's paintings, unusual combinations of materials especially in the base layers are juxtaposed against the imagery. Most of his recent work pairs the graphicness of nostalgic iconic images with common day neuroses.
